Recipe & fun flavor combinations

Did I tell y'all about the cuppie cakes I made recently?  I took about 4 different recipes and combined them and came up with what I thought was darn near a perfect treat.

Maple Bacon Cuppie Cakes

That's what they were.  I was not thrilled with something in the cake batter, I think it was the self-rising flour AND baking powder both.  But there was a weird after-taste thing that I need to get rid of.  When I get it perfected I will post it for you.

There is just something about the combo of salty and sweet that works.  Like popcorn with a big box of Milk Duds dumped in.  You never know when you stick your hand in the tub if you are getting salty and crunchy or sweet and chewy.  Love it!

Another thing that is salty and sweet that is good is eating high quality (why would you ever bother with low quality??) vanilla ice cream with Lay's potato chips.  Now, that is a great treat when you are sad.  Or depressed.  Or whatever.

Other really fabulous flavor combos that can't be beat:

Bacon & garlic

Bacon & spinach

Spinach & Nutmeg

Dark chocolate & raspberries

Raspberries & Mangos

Turnip greens & that vinegar pepper sauce stuff

Chocolate and Chiles

Vanilla & Scallops

Beer & Lime

Ok, now I am hungry.  Any good flavor combos that you love?
