Evil Husbands and sundry things to discuss

1. I have been gone (not just from the blog world) but gone from my home and out of town. I am not at liberty to discuss the particulars of this impromptu trip.  Suffice it to say, it was necessary and not a pleasure  cruise.

2. Evil husbands.  Mr. Big Ed is going to find a big boot in his ass if he doesn't keep his grubby hands off my gorgeous computer.  I realize he gave it to me as a gift for my birthday.  But that does not give him any more license to fuck with it than it would for him to go wear the jewelry he has given me.  Right?

He did something and I don't really know what it was, but something that has caused my computer and iPhoto in particular to not recognize my camera and I can't get pictures from my camera onto the computer and here.  So now you can't see the photos of the little tiny rescue mama kitty and the two precious little babie kittens.

And it is all Mr. Big Ed's fault.  He was supposed to use the time that I was gone to try and rectify that situation but that didn't happen.  No baby kitten pics for you.  Courtesy of Mr. Big Ed.

Hmmmpphh.

3. BIG BROTHER!!  First off, Evel Dick is back!

And then he is gone.

WTF???

He has posted a long-winded video on his website about how he loves BB, and CBS and even Danielle and how all the rumors are wrong.

So Evel Dick is out.  Who do we like out of this cast?  Certainly not that loud obnoxious Rachel or her idiot boyfriend.  I do like Jeff and Jordan, but good Lord, if those two had a brain they would take it out and play with it.  Probably lose it after that.

But the new herd?  I can't tell if I like any of them or not.  Do you have any favorites?

4. Celebrity Rehab - Oh my.

What is up with Amy Fisher?  There is more than one screw loose with that girl.

5. I haven't read the obits to share with you in several weeks now.  I promise to do that after this Sunday's edition of the paper.

6. Remember that I was doing some new diet plan with my friend Judy?  Well, I did the Phase 1 for 5 or 6 days, and then moved on to Phase 2, and Phase 3.  Then I found a different diet that is a 3 day plan and did that for a while.  I just did the 3 days and repeated.  Like lather, rinse, repeat, you know.

Then when I was gone on my little trip it was impossible to keep up with it so I just went with the rest of the group and didn't make a fuss.  I got right back on the diet today so I am hoping some of these healthier choices I have been making will become second nature and can quit worrying, planning and working so hard at this.

I had lost 10 lbs when I last checked.  The weight loss is important but I am not going to obsess over the scale and the numbers.  I am trying to reduce my craving for sugar and carbs and get healthy, increase my metabolism and these things are all just as important as the weight loss.

7. My s-i-l was recently on a fabulous European vacation and I got a gift from her trip!!  Yay!!  What do you think she brought me?

Did you guess tea?

Did you guess tea that comes in fabulously colored tins?

How about FIVE OF THEM??  Woot!!

They are all exquisite, each one more intriguing-sounding than the last.

Such a pity that Mr. Big Ed has made it impossible for me to show you the lovely teas.  Dastardly dog.

8. We still have the rescue mama kitty and the two babies.  They are 10 days old today.  The babies have already got homes promised to them when they are six weeks old or so.  But the poor little mama kitty doesn't have a home to go after that.  If any of you want her and can provide her a loving warm home, please let me know.  She has a very calm and loving nature and deserves to have a home of her own.

9. I made a new recipe of Baked Tofu Bites tonight and tossed some of them on a bed of spinach and poured a bit of the marinade on it as a dressing.  They were really good.  I am one of the few people I know who really like tofu.

10. Breaking Bad starts back on Sunday.  Don't miss it!  I can't wait to see what Walter and Jesse get up to this season.  I wonder if the brother-in-law DEA guy will make it through this season?

Wish me luck in figuring out what to do about my camera/computer relationship and getting it fixed.

Lots to tell!

It has been a really long week, which is why I haven't posted anything.  But here goes!  And please forgive the random way these thoughts may jump around, but that is the way my brain works.  If you and I have ever had a conversation you already know this about me and probably expect it.

First and foremost, I want to say this and get it over with.  The Casey Anthony trial just finished.  I obsessed over this damn case since it first happened.  Then there was nothing in the news.  Nothing.  I would search online for what was going on.  Who could believe it was going to take 3 whole years to get to trial?  So when I found that they were going to televise the proceedings I was all over that.  I felt like I had watched this unfold from the beginning and wanted to see it through.

How on earth the state of Florida allowed the only 12 people in this country who didn't think Casey was guilty to be on that jury is a puzzler, for sure.  Were they not seeing the same witnesses I was?  Did they not hear the same testimony?  They found her guilty of 4 counts of providing false information to law enforcement.  Why would she do that?  Was she hiding something?  Like maybe?  Oh I don't know . . .

How about the TRUTH?

The truth of what really happened to Caylee.  Who knows the truth?  Only Caylee, the murderer and God.  Unless the murderer is more than one person.  But by Casey hiding the fact that Caylee was dead for 31 days (which by the way it is ONLY 31 days because Cindy called the cops, NOT because Casey decided to ask for help finding her "missing" child.  It could have been 131 days if not for Cindy.) and then lying to the police and FBI that were now on the case looking for this missing child and leading them on a wild goose chase in all sorts of wrong directions, she sent a clear message that she didn't want them to find the truth.

Why would you do that?  What motivation was there for misleading the very people who were trying to bring your child home?

And this jury saw fit to say Casey was not guilty of 1st degree murder.  She was not guilty of aggravated child abuse.  She was not guilty of manslaughter.

She is only guilty of 4 counts of lying.  It's the motivation behind the lying that they seem to have missed.

My heart just sank when they started reading the verdicts of these charges and I realized that justice would not be served in this case.  That poor tiny child died a needless, senseless death and no one will pay for it.  I was stunned, I was sickened, and this horrible uncomfortable feeling came over me that it is too easy to get away with murder in this country.  I don't want that to be true.

So I am done, D U N, talking, obsessing, thinking about this trial.  I hope Casey never has a day's peace. And I am done.

In other news, I was at a birth this week.  Mom and Dad labored beautifully and were so in tune with each other.  I was so impressed to see him rise to this occasion.  I am never sure about how dads are going to be in birth.  Some tell me ahead of time how they see their role and we get a plan of how to best engage dad and keep him where he is comfortable and still best able to support the mom.  But this guy? He so totally exceeded my expectations.  It was fabulous to watch.  Which brings me to this, why did I have expectations?  I should have an open mind and not set these expectations or limitations for that matter of what I think will happen and how people will behave in labor.  I never want to bring any judgement to a labor.  And I hope I didn't.

We had a very low-key weekend celebrating Mr. Big Ed's belated birthday and also 4th of July.  Lots of grilling of food and just hanging out.  No fireworks around here.  Remember the drought we are having? It's still the worst on record since they started keeping such records.  It is bad.  I could care less about the stupid grass, but I do want there to be enough water to keep our trees sustained and if possible to keep the garden going.

Oh!  remember the silk solar lanterns that I got Mr. Big Ed for fathers day last year?

Here's a look at them from last year:

Well, I got him SIX MORE!!!

We have them hanging in the trees under which we have the new table and chairs.  It was magical sitting out there last night under the silk lanterns.  They have the softest light and they just float in the breeze. Lovely.

In other, other news!  You all know that Sparky and his girlfriend live here, right?  Well, she is a barista at a world-famous coffee shop that shall not be named.  And on Sunday, she found this little stray kitty had wandered up to the front of this coffee shop and was very obviously pregnant and in distress.  So she found a box to put her in and the next thing you know, she is acting as this cat's doula.  2 little babies were born in that box while she continued to talk reassuringly and stroke the new mama kitty.  Awww, it warms my heart to think about it.

She called the humane society who told her they would send someone to get them and foster them.  And you know what?

THEY NEVER SHOWED!!!

What dickheads.  And a co-worker said she would take them to her house but backed out at the last minute.  Yet another dickhead.

We could not in good conscience leave her and those babies helpless in a cardboard box on a busy street, so we are fostering all 3 of them.  We are also looking for a good cat shelter to take them.  If any of you have good advice about this, I would appreciate it.  There is no way I am keeping 3 more cats.  No. fucking. way.  I already have 2 10-year old cats who piss and shed on everything.  I have 2 5-year old cats who kill birds, squirrels, and various wildlife.  I have 2 geriatric 14-year old dogs that are not doing well.  And to top it off I have 4 year old Ernest T. Bass who wants to kill the cats and keeps trying to climb the Alpha pet ladder.  He is on the bottom rung of that ladder and is staying there, so he just needs to get over it.  So no way we are keeping these 3 precious gray stripey kitties.

But they could be yours!  I will post some pictures right away so you can see how absolutely precious they are.  That mama cat is so sweet and loving and just a joy.  And the 2 teensy little 2-day old babies?  O.M.G.!!!  Are they ever adorable.

Be on the lookout for the most awww-inspiring pictures coming soon!!

p.s. Big Brother starts in 2 days.

Obsession

Oh Lord above, it might be a really L O O O O O N N N N N N G G G G G G  summer!

I am spending every free moment glued, and I mean glued to the screen watching the Casey Anthony Trial live.  And it is excruciatingly s l o w going.  Her lawyer seems to be a douchebag and I don't care for him one whit.  The judge is no Lance Ito, that's for sure.  He's not even anywhere near a good old-fashioned Judge Wapner.  He is slow.  s l o w.

Have I mentioned this trial is moving slowly?  It might still be going 20 years from now.  Someone will come in here and find my decrepit, stiff dried-up corpse with my claw-like hand stuck to the mouse STILL watching this oh-so-unquick-like moving trial.  I can sit here and watch cold molasses move faster than this trial moves.

This new obsession is in addition to my usual summertime Big Brother watching. Big Brother comes on 3 times a week, and (hopefully) they have late-night live feeds on showtime every night, AND if that isn't enough watching time you can also subscribe to the live feeds on your computer and watch those crazy houseguests/hamsters all day every day.  Please note that I did NOT say 24/7, because I loathe that little set of numbers.

Anyhoo, that is what I am doing.  When I am not working, I mean.  What are you doing?  Any new obsessions you care to share with the class?

T.V. Finales

So, I have been traveling to my nephew's graduation with his MBA and not here to post anything, but I am home for a while till the next nephew's graduation from high school in a few weeks!

And last night there were two great t.v. series' season finales.  First up was Survivor.

This whole season belonged to Boston Rob.  I can not think of a single thing he did that was wrong in hind sight, not even a teeny bit stupid.  He played impeccably.  He was driven, focused and never once got swayed into doing something stupid.  Unlike every other player on his team and the other.  Every single person (aside from BR) made a bone-headed move.  I am sooooooo happy that he won.  He deserved it and I can not imagine another outcome to this season.

Congratulations Boston Rob!

That Amber is a lucky girl, isn't she?  First, she proves herself to be the winner of her season.  She gets proposed to on national t.v.  Then they go on Amazing Race.  And now they each have won their own million bucks.  Plus he got the extra fan favorite $100,000.  So that's pretty cool, too.

My guess is that they will never let him play again.  Hee!

And then we had the season finale of Desperate Housewives.  Let me just say this:  If it weren't for Gabby & Carlos I would have shut the door on this show 2 or 3 seasons ago.  Gabby is just the perfect blend of hilarious self-centeredness and fierce love and loyalty to her husband, daughters and friends when needed.

Susan is ridiculous.  Just plain ridiculous.

Bree.  I don't even know what to say about her.

Lynette.  It is flat-out painful to watch her emasculate her husband week in and week out and then be shocked that he reacts to that treatment.

Thank God they have Karen McCluskey on that street to just tell those nasty bitches how things really are!

I am not sure if I will be able to stand another season of this show or not.  Any thoughts?

p.s. Less than 2 months to the new season of Big Brother!  Any one up for all-nighters watching the Showtime after dark and watching the feeds 24 hours?  Gawd, I hope there will be some fun and interesting characters this year.

More Randomness

Firstly, and most importantly, I want to say a big Thank You!  to all of you who are reading my drivel and still come back for more.  It does my heart good to see a comment or two.  So thank you.  You are appreciated.  And I mean that sincerely.

Secondly, Did you know that in 3 months and 9 days it will be Christmas?  Have you considered that?  Have you started your gift making, shopping, planning, listing, wrapping, decorating?  Any of it?  Heaven knows I haven't.  Good Lord, the year is 3/4 gone and I haven't even started!  Aaaarrrrgghh!  What am I going to do this year?  I feel like I am running out of ideas for good, clever and useful things to make.

Third, Halloween candy!  I am so excited about going shopping today for my first batch of Halloween candy.  Typically, I end up buying it 3 times between Sept. and Halloween.  So, today is the day!  Candy corn!  Reece's!  Teeny little Hershey's bars! Those cute little pumpkin things that taste just like Candy Corn!  Woot!!  Which is your favorite?

Fourth, Michael Franti has a new album coming out next week.  You need to run over to his site and check it out.  If you call me, you get to hear him on my Caller Tunes, plus he is also my default ringtone this year.

Fifth, Speaking of default ringtones; do you assign ringtones to certain individuals or groups of people?  I do.  And of course, I think some of my choices are hilarious!  Some are not necessarily hilarious but they are appropriate.

Sixth, tonight is the finale to the snoozefest that was Big Brother this summer.  And it is about flipping time.  Good Lord, has this season been boring.  Also, just before that is the season opener of Survivor with Jimmy Johnson and no hairspray.  I hope he hangs in for a really long time just so we can see him without hair products!  Love it!

Seventh, I wanted to update you on my sickly pet situation.  Fergus Jackson MacPhee, the kitty who was at death's door this summer?  36 hours before the cruise?  He is doing really well.  His transfusion plus this tonic made of vitamins and liver and heaven only knows what else has made a world of difference.  Not to mention all the prayers, well wishes and good vibes.  Yea Fergus!!  And Maxwell Banks II, the schnauzer with bladder stones?  He is on the mend and had all his staples removed from his incisions. He is on a special diet for now.

I am truly grateful for all your thoughts towards my little furry 4-legged babes.  Thanks, internet friends!!

Seriously rambling ramblings!

Not serious, as in "Oh here is the formula for fixing global warming". Seriously rambling as in all over the flipping map, rambling!

I have several points I want to make so let me number them and see if I can stay on track.

1. DWTS - what the hell were they thinking?  Isn't the title Dancing with the STARS?  Because I read the list of the new cast and I thought they had changed it to Dancing with the NOBODY, LOSER HASBEENS AND WANNABES.  Ol' Carol Brady is the only one you could remotely call a star.

2. What has happened with people and phone etiquette?  People call you and are rude.  I call people and they are rude.  No one seems to want to be polite anymore.  What's up with that?

3. My savings account has been eaten alive by vet bills this past month.  The schnauzer Maxwell Banks II is still at the hospital convalescing after his second surgery in 2 days so those bills are still mounting. Methinks it will be a very lean and very homemade and creative Christmas this year spent admiring our healthy pets rather than store-bought gifts!

4. My friend Ula told me yesterday that someone she knows told her that the reason so much bad shit is happening is because Mars is in retrograde.  Some astrological stuff that was way over Ula's head and mine as well.  (Good Lord, will you look at that?  I was thinking astrological shit, and my fingers typed stuff and censored me.  I wonder how that happens?)  So, anyhoo, whatever is going on with Mars, I wish it would please and very kindly stop.  First my little cat Fergus Jackson MacPhee almost dies.  Then I had a HUGE upset with my vet's office.  Maxwell Banks II in for 2 surgeries.  My sweet and precious little Rachel Pie left important keys at my house so I had to UPS them to her.  And not 2 hours later she calls to tell me she lost her flipping wallet.  wtf?  I immediately passed the phone to her father, the infamous Mr. Big Ed who has similarly lost wallets, atm cards, etc.  Rachel Pie's response to me was this "It happens to everyone". Really?  I am gonna have to disagree on that one, Little Bitty Pie Person.

Mars, get yourself out of retrograde already!  Enough is enough.

5. My grandma has been in the hospital for 5 weeks and was just moved Thursday to an assisted-living facility to do dialysis for 2 months as an in-patient.  Supposedly if her kidneys respond well to this course she can then go home and just go for dialysis on an out-patient basis.  I probably should have listed this at the top of number 4 with Mars and his retrograding.  But every day I talk to her on the phone and afterwards I say "Poor Grandma".  I feel so bad for her.  No one should spend their 92nd birthday plus 5 more weeks in a stupid hospital.  That's 1/12 of her 93rd year started out not even being in her own home.  I am planning a trip out there really soon to visit and see what I can do for her.

6. Speaking of trips; I know I just returned from 2 separate trips but I am headed out again today. My sister, let's call her Bertha is driving over here and then we are driving together over to our aunt's home to spend a few days with even more relatives visiting from California.  So I will be gone for a couple of days.  Right now I should be folding clothes and such before I leave but no, I thought I better type this to you instead!

7. Tomorrow is September.  Wrap your brain around that little thought for moment, won't you?  Is it just me or does it seem like the previous 8 months have flown by in the blink of an eye?  Have I done all the things I set out to do this year?  Not even close.

8. A little more on the t.v. updates:
Survivor is coming soon!!!  Yea!  I am soooooo tired of the BB cast and I am so ready for this to be over.
Top Shot, the show that was on the History Channel hosted by Colby Donaldson (of Survivor fame) is coming back for a second season!!  Woot!
Brian Cranston won another Emmy, 3 in a row, for playing Walter the meth dude on Breaking Bad. That is a fabulous show.  Make sure you watch the new season when it comes back.
That new show "The Big C" starring Laura Linney is really good.  I love the quirky characters. And it is set in Minneapolis/St. Paul which is really fun.

Ok, I am all done rambling now.  See you in a couple of days!!

Short but Sweet. or maybe not.

Ok, the last thing I posted was about the start up of the new summer of Big Brother.  I didn't expect to post about BB so soon, but the most hilarious thing was said on the first episode that I had to rush back here and share it with any of you that may have missed it.

Here's the set up:  All the houseguests were divided up into red and yellow teams with one person left to be the mascot.  That poor schmuck got to put on the hot dog suit from last year.  (This should have been a real clue to them that red and yellow were probably ketchup and mustard)  They go outside and the backyard is set up for a big challenge and made to look like a giant hibachi with giant wieners dangling over it on a pulley of some kind.  They were at one end of the hibachi and had to jump on the to dangling wiener and hang on while they were wheeled across to the other side.  The team with the fastest time of getting all their members to the other side were the winners and the very last person on the winning team is the new HOH.

Oh, and as they were hangin on the wieners for dear life they were being squirted with ketchup and mustard.  This made each trip across progressively difficult as the giant wiener gets more and more slippery.  Everyone with me so far?

So of course, they are cutting in with the diary room descriptions of this from each houseguest's perspective and they were hilarious!  But the best one was this:

The extremely dumb bleached-blonde girl named Britney who kept sliding off the wiener and having to go back and start again said "I lost my dignity on a slippery wiener".

Now how are they going to top THAT?  The season just started and how can they go up from that?  Or how can they go anywhere BUT up from that!!  I laughed so hard I had to go back and rewind and watch it again and again.  This is what unscriped reality t.v. is all about!  The dumb shit that comes out of the people's mouths.

And . . . . The end of the World Cup.  Next stop, Brazil in 2014.  Woo Hoo!!  No more vuvuzelas for four years!  Yea!!!

One more thing about the World Cup; even though none of my teams made it I was so happy to see Uruguay's Diego Forlan got the Golden Ball for being the top player of the whole World Cup. And to do it without even being in the winning team is testament to his talent.

Enjoy a little more Diego, won't you?

Those of you who weren't World Cup fans before might want to consider watching a few matches, don't you think?

I have been doing a lot of reading.  And I think it is thanks to my Kindle.  I have been breezing through books like a tornado!  A fast-reading tornado.  I have read Breakfast with Buddha (pretend that is underlined) for the book club at Bye Bye Pie.  If you don't read June over at Bye Bye Pie every day you just don't know what you are missing!  All the fun is over at June's house.

I also read the new Anthony Bourdain book, a couple of David Sedaris' books, and now I am reading (but not on the Kindle, real life books!  with pages to turn!) a couple of books by Sherman Alexie that my daughter the lovely and precious Rachel Pie gave me for Christmas.

So, what are you watching this summer?  What are you reading this summer?  What's going on in your neck of the woods?  Any fun trips planned?  Share with the rest of the class, won't you?

It's that time again!

It is that time again!  Time to stay up really late each night watching.  Time to be glued to the t.v. 3 evenings a week.  Time for . . . . . . .

BIG BROTHER!!

And this season one of the hamsters will be like the old America's Player, he (or she) will be called the Saboteur.  Sent in to do mischief.  Should be interesting.  I hope so, anyway.

Who among you are BB watchers?  If so, do you just watch the 3 times a week stuff?  Do you watch the Showtime after dark every night?  Or are you full-blown fan and subscribe to the live feed and watch all the damn time?

Woot!!!

Tonight is the first episode and we get to meet the houseguests.  Don't miss it.

Amazing Idiots Race around the World and Tooliest Tools of all Tools

Did you see these 2 shows last night?  If not, you missed the STUPIDEST people ever to grace the t.v. screen!  I said it, and I meant it.  Oh Lawzy!  Dumber than boxes of hair, dumber than a sack of hammers, 11 crayons short in a box of 12.

First off, Jeff and Jordan of Big Brother fame were one of the couples on Amazing Race.  Now, how much fun is it going to be watching those two brain-trusts navigate themselves around the globe?  Ha!  And just when you thought they would be the dumbest team out there?  Guess who else is racing?  None other than THIS GIRL!!

And in case you thought they couldn't get any dumber than THAT?  This silly ass father/daughter team goes and paints the WRONG HOUSE!  They had to paint part of a wall as a challenge (how challenging is this task?  Only difficult if you are color blind in my opinion) and these maroons trotted off the wrong way and then wandered into someone's home and just started painting red on the walls.  Oooh, it was hysterical to watch all these wieners wandering around Chile.

To top it off there are these 2 cowboy brothers (not unlike Cowboy from BB) who heard they were going to Chile and decided to change all their money into Brazilian reales!!  WTF?  Why on earth would they do this?  If this keeps up they are going to have to change the title of this show to Amazing that these Short Bus Rejects can even Race at all!

And then on to the newest semester (as they call it) of Tool Academy.  My, oh my.  I almost don't know what to say.  These are some pretty horrendous tools.  They have included 2 female tools this season.  One is a lesbian and the other appears to be a nympho-slut.  And as bad as the tools are, the greatest and funniest thing to me was when Trina the-oh-so-proper-and-British therapist said "tool-ish behavior".  Seriously?  Tool-ish behavior?  Very medical term there, Trina.  Has anyone checked her credentials?

Sorry for posting twice in one day, but it had to be done.  : )

Endings and New Beginnings

It's the end of BB tonight. Did any of you vote for the tie-breaker? Who did you vote for? Do you even care at this point? Tomorrow I promise to post a report on the finale events of BB.

And it's the beginning of fall must-watch tv!

Most importantly this week starts:

Survivor! Woo Hoo! I am really excited about Survivor.

Biggest Loser starts up tonight. Don't miss it. I think they are bringing back Daniel, the youngest and heaviest contestant yet.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia starts Thursday. OMG! Yes, I just omg'ed you in CAPS! Sunny always elicits that kind of response.

Tool Academy has been on a couple weeks so far, but you don't want to miss the remaining tools!

Sons of Anarchy - new season starts up soon. This is an awesome show. I really look forward to what's going to happen.

Californication - Let's hope for some maturity and growth out of the main characters. I think the "oh we are so immature and can't resist temptation" has been played to death. Grow up already and be responsible parents!! We shall see!

Curb your enthusiasm - Looking forward to the reunion of the Seinfeld cast on here. Should be fun.

Dancing With the Stars - I don't know the date for this, but poor Cheryl Burke. They stuck her with that oh-so-flexible-and-light-on-his-feet Tom De Lay. So much for her getting a chance at winning this season!

Other shows that just had their season finales:

True Blood - Can Sookie and Bill not have one moment of happiness and bliss?

Weeds - Did you see this? Lawzy, lawzy, what on earth is going to happen next?

When does Lost come back on? Is it true that this season will be the last one? Will they really and truly wrap it up so that it makes any sense? I had a dream recently that they were all dead and this island is some kind of purgatory. Let's hope that is NOT the case.

BB Updates

O. M. freaking G.!!!!!

I leave town on Friday after watching the Thursday live show (AAAAAWWWWESOME by the way!) and watching the BB After Dark show as well. So I thought I had an idea of what would be going on over the weekend while I was gone.

Apparently NOT!

Chima has hopped the Insane Diva Freak Train and left the station bound for Heaven-Only-Knows-Where.

But first let's talk about Thursday's live show which I totally called! Just ask my friend Richard. I told him a week ago that I was voting like crazy for Jeff and that my perfect scenario would be Jeff taking off stupid Chima's nominees and putting up Jessie the Turtleboy and Natalie his psycho pitbull of a lying girlfriend. I am so thrilled that he had the stones to do it. So many times these people are given a chance to step out and take a huge risk and they blow it by not wanting to make waves. Make waves people! That's what you are there for! Yes!

Personally, I want Natalie gone but Lydia has fallen off the rails and may need to go to a de-briefing station for a couple of months before re-entering Real Life. It does not look good for her.

So right now my Top Three picks are:
1. Jeff, he has played this game exceptionally well. He made the right moves at the right times. he doesn't cause unnecessary drama. He has the funniest Chicago accent!
2. Kevin, this boy is so right on with all his assessments of his fellow hamsters. Very intuitive. I like Kevin.
3. Jordan, she is very likeable. Kinda like a really cute but stupid puppy dog. You really like it and think it is cute and precious, but you know there is nothing going on upstairs. that girl is about as dumb as a sack of hammers, a box of hair, a turnip, or whatever as dumb as analogy works for you. She is really sweet though. And she is sharing her HOH week with Michelle who got totally screwed and got an HOH Day and 1/2 instead.

Michelle & Russell, devious and devious-er! Oh Lord, what will those 2 pull next.

So, I am really looking forward to this Thursday's live eviction and new HOH comp. It is make or break time people! It's do or die! It's sink or swim!

Yeah whatever, you get the picture. :)

Who are you current faves? What did you think of this past week's whirlwind of adventures?

BB & other t.v. updates

It's about flipping time! Big Brother is back on. Summer night time viewing is happening. Now, initially I think I liked 2 or 3 of the new houseguests/hamsters, but as their true colors start breaking through I may have to revise my opinion.

WARNING!!! Because my brain has turned 50 and menopause has kicked in, my memory has turned to crap SOOOOO since I watch the Showtime after dark stuff which is in "real time" as opposed to the Sunday and Tuesday night shows which are recorded snippets of what happened during the week, I may be talking about things that are happening in the house NOW, and that may reveal who is on the block, who is talking smack about someone else, who is sleeping with whom, all that sort of stuff. So if you don't watch the live feeds or the night time stuff on Showtime, you may just want to skip my talks about BB, or alternately you could just pick up on what's happening and not have to suffer through 3 hours of late night viewing!

What gives with this year's cast? For the most part they are sooooo boooring I can't stand it. The ones that aren't boring are just irritating. Could Chima's laugh be any more annoying? I would be pushing the button, throwing in the towel, doing whatever it took to get me the hell out of there if I had to listen to her all day and all night long. OMG! The other one that irritates the beejeebers out of me is Natalie. S T F U, now! Good Lord she is so aggressive, belligerant, defensive, and just plain mean. Aaaarrrgh! Of course, I couldn't stand Natalie from 2 seasons ago either. Maybe it's just Natalies in general I don't like? :)

Hell's Kitchen started up last night with a bang, didn't it? Seriously? If you are making a "signature dish" to serve to Gordon Ramsay so that he can make a judgment about you, your skills, your so-called culinary point of view, etc; would you bring out the sausage gravy and biscuits? Are you looking for a job at a truck stop in Atlanta? wtf? No wonder that poor schmuck got kicked out. And the way they ended it? With that guy that sounds like he's from south Boston up in Chef Ramsay's face? What was that? Did someone spike that guy's water? That all just seemed to come out of left field. Very odd.

But nothing was as weird as seeing Gordon Ramsay's new highlights. What was up with his hair? Hmmmm???

What else have I been watching? MTV has been running a series called 16 and pregnant, and it is surprisingly good. Really good. I am hoping they are going to put it on dvd and we can use it as a teaching tool for some of our younger clients so they know what they are up against. It seems like a great way to reach some of the kids before they get in that situation. This week they are doing a reunion show of a sort with all the girls, babies, baby daddys if they are still around, etc. and Dr. Drew. I hope it's going well for all of them.

That new HBO series called Hung is shaping up to be a good one. Entourage is back on, praise the Lord! And speaking of HBO series, I totally called it that True Blood is going to end the season with a confrontation between Sookie and Jason at that weirdo church compound. All things point to a big show down there.

More later!
