Yes indeedy! After more than 2 years of planning and researching, I did it. I ordered the Kindle DX with AMEX reward points. It did take me more than 2 years of swiping that AMEX card for gas, for groceries, or whatever to have enough points accumulated to get the Kindle for free!!!
Due to arrive in 14 days or less. Last fall I started wavering about this wondering whether or not I would prefer to have an iPad. And the iPad is awesome for music, movies, surfing, all sorts of things, but as an e-reader it is not making the cut as I read in Consumer Reports
So since I have wanted a Kindle for more than 2 years, and since I was able to obtain one for free, I bit the bullet so to speak and spend the points! Woot!!

ReplyDeleteHaving never had a Kindle, I don't know the difference. I did get an iPad just in time for my vacation and I have to tell you I was very happy with it. Especially since I could keep in touch with my blog friends and read all in the same contraption. I will tell you this, Kindle, iPad, they've all got one huge downfall in my eyes. The bubble bath. I love me some bath and I love me some reading in the bath. So, make me a waterproof one and you've got me 100%. So glad to be back!
Joann! Welcome home. You were missed! Blogworld was so quiet and boring without you. I hear you on the bath/reading situation. The same thing applies to real books. Many a paperback has lost its life in the tub.
