Sunday Obit Review

A great and glorious morning to all!  The sun is shining.  There is green stuff all over and the Texas wildflowers are popping up all over!  Of course this also means it is Claritin season (in my house it is Wal-itin season).  On to the highlights of this week's obits!

We had a lot of the usual "passed away", "went to be with the Lord", and died.  Here are the interesting different ones:

Crossed over the threshold of mortal life and entered into rest

Entered into her eternal rest surrounded by her family who loved her very much

Called home by the Lord surrounded by his loving family

Passed from this life

Entered into eternal rest with his Lord Jesus and beloved wife

One lady who was 102 1/2 had Sunrise (DOB) and then Sunset (DOD)  Then it gave the time and place for the services.  That's it.  Almost 103 years of age and no one lauding her and her accomplishments.  That was really sad.  So let's all give some big Hurrays for her!  Making it past 102!!  Woot Woot!!

This family had to take top honors for names this week because they had  . . . . .

an Ignatz!!!

Two weeks in a row we have an Ignatz listed as a relation.  Interesting, yes?

So here is the rest of the Ignatz family:  Albina, Elmer, Ben, Raymond, Vincent, Ted, Shirley, Roy, Leon, Alois, Alex and Agnes.

Next week I think I will start listing interesting hobbies and occupations.

Any good obit info in your neighborhood?

  1. Big applause for the 102 year old lady. And a big raspberry to her ingrates of a family!

Okay, here was my grandpa's name, for your odd name pleasure, Massillion Aloysius. I am not kidding you.

  2. My very own great grandmother was named Kizzia Evangeline. She went by Kizzie for short.

So what did your grandpa go by? And by the by, Aloysius is an awesome name!!

  3. my grandpa was Grover :) he went by Grover.

that is terrible about the 103 year old :( I guess everyone who knew her cool accomplishments has gone to meet their maker already. Another reason to put some effort into your obit!

    Albina... that's rough....
